The Oklahoma Mustang Club took their cars to Texas World Speedway in College Station Texas and from the looks of things, had a great time. About a dozen member’s, family and friends went for the two day event.  NASA TEXAS hosted the weekend of fun and our members “competed” in the High Performance Driving Event (HPDE).  Actually, they weren’t really racing, they were just having fun going as fast as could.  Broken up into two groups, the HPDE guys, and gals, drove on this 2.9 mile road course which is an old NASCAR track.  Back in the day, track speeds got to over 210 mph in NASCAR and 230 mph in open wheel.  VERY fast track.  Speeds for the HPDE also could reach in excess of 140 mph.  Talking to the members that attended, they said the course was fast and fun!  From what they said, they’ll be heading back there in March of 2017.  Guess they did have fun!
